Mural Painting Services in Pittsburgh, PA

Create a more memorable commercial space with professional mural painting services from ImageWorks Painting. With years of experience serving commercial clients across retail, office, and hospitality environments, our team brings planning, precision, and jobsite professionalism that business projects demand. Whether you want a branded feature wall, showroom graphic, storefront image, office mural, or mural-style design for an interior or exterior wall, we can help apply your approved artwork cleanly and on schedule.

ImageWorks focuses on the painting and application of mural projects. Instead of hand-painted artwork from scratch, we work from an image, graphic, pattern, or approved design you provide, then use specialized robotic mural painting technology to reproduce that artwork directly onto the wall with picture-quality precision at a fraction of the cost and timeline of traditional hand-painted murals.

This service is a strong fit for businesses that want a polished branded wall, showroom feature, retail backdrop, office mural, storefront graphic, or small-to-medium scale commercial wall mural without managing a traditional hand-painted mural process.

Why Choose ImageWorks Painting for Commercial Murals?

A successful mural is more than putting an image on a wall. The surface needs to be evaluated, the artwork needs to be scaled correctly, the work area needs to be protected, and the project needs to be managed around your business operations.

ImageWorks manages mural painting projects with the same care we bring to our commercial painting services including:

  • Surface review

  • Preparation

  • Protection

  • Communication and scheduling

  • Jobsite cleanup

Our Mural Painting Services

We provide mural painting support for Pittsburgh-area commercial properties and branded spaces. Mural work can be completed as a standalone service or coordinated with a larger interior or exterior painting project.

Commercial Interior Wall Murals

Interior mural painting can turn a blank wall into a branded feature, customer photo backdrop, showroom display, office focal point, or visual statement. This service works best for small-to-medium interior walls where the approved artwork can be reproduced cleanly within the project size and wall conditions.

Branded Feature Walls

Mural painting is a strong fit for branded feature walls using approved logos, brand graphics, patterns, images, typography, or other visual assets. These projects work well in reception areas, showrooms, conference rooms, storefronts, customer-facing walls, and employee spaces.

Storefront and Showroom Murals

A mural-style wall graphic can help make a storefront, showroom, or customer-facing space more recognizable and memorable. These projects are especially useful when you want the wall to support your brand, create a photo-worthy backdrop, or make the space feel more intentional.

Exterior Mural Painting

Exterior mural painting is available for select projects depending on wall size, surface condition, access, exposure, and artwork requirements. For smaller-to-medium exterior walls and standard surface applications, our robotic painting process delivers precise, picture-quality results. For elevated surfaces, large-scale building-side applications, or projects where vinyl stenciling is a better fit for the substrate and scale, we use alternative application methods including vinyl stencil logos and lettering to get the job done right. We'll recommend the best approach for your specific wall during the consultation.

Murals as Part of a Larger Painting Project

If your mural is part of a broader property refresh, ImageWorks can coordinate it with related painting services. That may include commercial interior painting, commercial exterior painting, office painting, retail painting, or other updates that help the mural feel integrated with the rest of the space.

Custom Accent Walls and Painted Graphics

For some properties, a full mural may not be the best fit. A painted graphic wall, brand-inspired accent wall, image reproduction, or simpler custom wall treatment may deliver a cleaner, more practical result. During your consultation, we can help determine whether mural painting is the right fit for your wall and artwork.

Where Our Robotic Painting Technology Thrives

Here's what makes our mural process genuinely different: we have a painting robot. Not a metaphor, actual robotic mural painting technology that reproduces images, logos, brand graphics, and artwork directly onto walls with picture-quality precision, consistent scaling, and clean placement. It's the same result you'd want from a skilled hand-painted mural, delivered with the consistency and cost efficiency that commercial projects demand.

Our robotic process is best suited for commercial and public-facing spaces where the goal is precise, full-coverage reproduction of an approved image or design, without the variability and cost of fully custom hand-painted work.

  • Showrooms and storefronts
  • Office lobbies and conference areas
  • Retail stores and customer-facing walls
  • Restaurants, cafés, breweries, and hospitality spaces
  • Schools, childcare centers, and educational spaces
  • Fitness, wellness, and healthcare spaces
  • Community centers and nonprofit facilities
  • Small-to-medium exterior commercial walls

For projects outside this range, very large buildings: side murals, elevated surfaces requiring special access, or applications where vinyl stenciling is a better technical fit we'll be upfront about the right approach and can discuss alternatives that still get you a great result.

The ImageWorks Mural Painting Process

A mural painting project is easier when the process is clear from the start. Our approach is designed to help you move from approved image to finished wall with fewer surprises.

1. Consultation and Project Planning

We start by learning what you want the mural or wall graphic to accomplish. Is the goal of reinforcing your brand, creating better customer experience, improving a showroom, energizing a workplace, or adding character to a storefront or commercial wall?

We'll also talk through the practical details of where the mural will go, what artwork you have, when the work needs to happen, whether the business will remain open during painting, and whether the mural is part of a larger painting project.

2. Wall Review and Surface Preparation

The wall itself plays a major role in how the mural turns out. Before painting begins, the surface needs to be evaluated for texture prior to coatings, damage, moisture concerns, adhesion issues, lighting, access, and surrounding finishes.

Depending on the condition of the wall and interior vs. exterior surfaces, preparation may include cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, priming, or other steps needed to create a better painting surface. Proper prep helps the finished mural look cleaner and perform more reliably over time.

3. Artwork Review and Approval

Because ImageWorks focuses on mural application rather than original mural design, the artwork or image should be provided and approved before painting begins. This may include a logo, brand graphics, illustration, photograph, pattern, typography, or other visual files.

4. Mural Application

We use our robotic mural painting technology to reproduce your image, branded graphics, patterns, or artwork directly onto the wall. This process is designed for precise scaling, clean placement, and consistent application: delivering picture-quality results on interior walls and selecting exterior surfaces.

5. Jobsite Care and Final Review

Our team manages the work area with care including setup, surrounding surface protection, scheduling, cleanup, and communication throughout the project.

When the mural is complete, we review the finished work and address the final details. If the project includes surrounding wall painting, touch-ups, or related finish work, we make sure the overall space feels cohesive.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do you design custom murals?
No. ImageWorks Painting does not typically create the original mural design. We focus on applying approved artwork, images, logos, graphics, patterns, or visual files to the wall.
Do you hand-paint murals?
Most of our mural work is completed using specialized robotic painting technology it's one of the things that makes our process unique. For certain exterior applications, elevated surfaces, or projects where vinyl stenciling is the better technical fit, we use alternative methods including vinyl stencil logos and lettering or projection-assisted hand painting. We recommend the right approach for your wall and artwork during the consultation.
Can you paint large exterior murals?
We can complete select exterior mural painting projects, but this service is not intended for very large murals on the full side of a building. It is better suited for small-to-medium walls, storefront graphics, branded exterior features, and similar commercial applications. For elevated or oversized exteriors, we may recommend vinyl stenciling or a different application method.
Do I need to have the mural image ready before contacting you?
You do not need every detail finalized, but you should have an image, logo, artwork, pattern, brand graphic, or design direction in mind. Since we do not typically design the artwork, having a visual file or approved concept helps determine whether the project is a good fit.
Can I create my mural indoors or outdoors?
Yes, mural painting may be used for both interior and exterior projects, depending on the wall size, surface condition, access, exposure, and artwork requirements.
How much does mural painting cost?
Most interior single-wall mural projects start at $1,750, and that starting price covers a wide range of wall sizes from a 3' × 3' accent piece up to a wall in the 8' × 12–14' range. One of the reasons additional murals in the same space cost less per mural is that the initial mobilization of our robotic painting equipment is a significant part of the project cost, once the robot is set up and on-site, adding a second or third mural becomes considerably more efficient. Pricing varies based on wall size, surface condition, artwork complexity, interior versus exterior location, access requirements, and preparation needs. The best way to get accurate pricing is to schedule a consultation.
